Barnabas Weekend April 21-23

Our Mission:

Love Endlessly. Speak Fearlessly. Let Hope Shine.

We believe all persons are of infinite value and worth. We all have a unique story to share, and we all have hope to shine. At Barnabas Weekend, individual lives and stories are brought to light and celebrated through genuine friendships and authentic community building.

Help us light up the weekend by joining as a corporate sponsor or volunteer.

About:

Barnabas Weekend is a retreat designed for those with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Barnabas is known for showing great kindness to the apostle Paul, and his Hebrew name translates to “son of encouragement.” We hope to extend such encouragement and kindness to our Barnabas campers, just as they encourage us.

Campers enjoy activities such as boating, hiking, zip-line, art, devotions, dance and talent show performances. Each camper is partnered with a companion friend who remains by their side throughout the weekend, offering encouragement and care for eating, sleeping and all the fun in between.

Due to the overwhelming generosity of individuals, grants and faithful partnerships with our corporate sponsors, we can offset the weekend cost up to 80%! Campers pay only $20 for the weekend, all expenses included.

Want to be a Corporate Sponsor?

Sponsorships start at just $250, and all donations are tax deductible.

Why join the mission of Barnabas Weekend?

B—Barnabas is a ton of fun

A—And you will gain spiritual growth, and your smile & heart will grow, too

R—Really, I promise!

N—Not because I’m just saying so, but I went, and I grew. I grew in my friendships with people from this church, and I grew in friendships with some campers.

A—And my eyes were opened to a beautiful place I had never been to and to a beautiful people that I had never really befriended…

B—Because it’s easy to be busy and run at my own pace

A—And this weekend changed me. It helped me, while I was helping my companion, Cheyenne.

S—So, I encourage you to step outside of your box and go to experience a wonderful weekend full of smiles, love, and friendships.
