Events Spanning Several Weeks

7:30am-6pm, St. John’s Lutheran Church & School, 2415 Silas Creek Parkway in W-S. Camp Falcon Summer Camp days are full of fun. Campers will participate in exciting field trips all over The Triad. The theme for this year’s summer camp will be the Ten Commandments. We will use crafts, activities, games and movies to creatively incorporate the Ten Commandments into our daily fun.

400 West Hanes Mill Road in W-S. Explore the Design-Build-Test cycle through hands-on experiments. Discover DaVinci’s interlocking bridge, experiment with the marble run station, build with giant blue blocks and more! Included with museum admission and free for members.

10am-4:30pm, Museum of Anthropology, Wake Forest University, 1834 Wake Forest Road in W-S. This student-curated interactive exhibit explores the traditional arts of Central African peoples while also serving as the setting for a series of puzzles similar to an “escape room” game. Visitors to the exhibit can use cryptic clues and notes found in the text to solve the puzzles in a specific sequence, ultimately revealing the solution to a mystery. The museum is open Tues.-Sat. (10am-4:30pm). (Please note that the museum will be closed July 31st to September 4th for renovations).

10am-4:30pm, Museum of Anthropology, Wake Forest University, 1834 Wake Forest Road in W-S. Vienna, Austria is a renowned icon of world culture, the birthplace of classical music and a sophisticated example of a planned urban environment. This exhibit, based on WFU student research conducted in the city, explores the social geography of Vienna and the inherent tensions between the urban elite, the city government’s historic program of social housing and the diverse cultures of its residents. Admission is free.

6:30pm, Novant Health Midwifery Associates, 150 Charlois Boulevard, Suite 100 in W-S. Bradley Method® is a comprehensive, 12-week, small-group course equipping couples to birth their babies naturally, covering nutrition, exercise and relaxation to prepare for labor and birth; breathing, relaxation and positioning to handle labor and birth without pain medication; Dad or other partner’s role in coaching Mom through pregnancy and birth; physical and emotional stages of childbirth; breastfeeding and newborn care.
