February 2021 “From the Heart”

Happy Valentine’s, Forsyth Family readers! I wish you a month full of sweet surprises! I was hopeful for the start of a brand-new year, but if I’m honest, it’s not exactly starting off great for me personally. My dad passed away just a couple days into the New Year and I’m not sure it has hit me quite yet.

My mom and dad married right out of high-school and parenthood happened quickly for them soon after. I was the only girl with two younger brothers. Growing up, I was definitely a daddy’s girl, following him around to help with whatever project he was working on at the time. Sadly, we were quite distant these past few years and it broke my heart. He had been in declining health for some time and would not allow me to help with his care the way I would have liked. Losing a loved one is never easy, but its more than the loss of them physically, it’s also the loss of the hope of a better relationship that will never be.

This marks the eleventh “From the Heart” since Covid-19. I know we are all experiencing pandemic “caution exhaustion” by now, but hang on, we can do this!

Robin Bralley

Forsyth Family publisher/owner from 2007-2022. She turned over the reins to the very capable Brooke Eagle in 2023 and remains a part of the team as an Account Executive. You’ll also most likely see her stocking magazine racks around town. Robin grew up in Clemmons and has called it home all her life. She has a degree from High Point University and after finding herself downsized from her marketing position in corporate America, Robin joined forces with Forsyth Woman publisher and friend, Keela Johnson to launch Forsyth Family. She and her husband, Tim, have been married for almost 35 years and share two grown daughters, Briana and Morgan, as well as a son-in-law, Briana’s husband, Jonathan and Morgan’s soon to be husband, Deep! She is very excited to welcome her first grandchild in May. Robin and her family are avid music fans and enjoy going to concerts and movies. She loves watching birds on her many backyard feeders and flower gardening. She is an active member of New Day Community Church and feels closest to God on her daily walks at Tanglewood Park with husband Tim. Regarding her favorite thing about Forsyth Magazines, Robin said, “It’s hard to narrow it down to one specific thing, but meeting all of the wonderful people I come in contact with and being a small part of local businesses’ success is top of the list!”
