May 2021 “From the Heart”

In April, I was able to take a spur-of-the-moment trip to Florida for a little fun in the sun with my favorite guy! We flew Allegiant out of the Concord airport into Fort Lauderdale for the first time and it could not have been easier! What a hidden gem of an airport! Next time you head to Florida, check it out! I originally wanted us to drive to the Keys, but spur-of-the-moment spring travel to the Keys is not exactly conducive to the budget-conscious traveler. We really love the Gulf Coast and after a little research and an affordable hotel discovery, we decided on Naples. A quick drive across Alligator Alley/I-75 and we were off to a week of new areas of Florida to discover! We waded through waist-deep water and walked through a mangrove trail to discover Tiger Tail beach on Marco Island, caught a ferry to Key West for a day, explored Captiva and Sanibel Islands for another. On our final day we relaxed on Clam Pass Beach and watched an amazing sunset on Naples Pier. It was such a nice break after the recent months we’ve just gone through!

Speaking of moms, it’s that special month set aside to honor moms. It’s hard to express all the gratitude they deserve for a lifetime of love. I think we’re all guilty of taking those we love for granted at times. So be sure to let them know how much they mean to you. To my mom, Mary, I know I don’t say it often enough, but I love you very much. I’m grateful for your love and support and for helping to shape me into the person I am today. To my daughters, thank you for the role of a lifetime! God blessed me with two beautiful, strong and compassionate young women, and it truly is an honor to be your mom!

Robin Bralley

Forsyth Family publisher/owner from 2007-2022. She turned over the reins to the very capable Brooke Eagle in 2023 and remains a part of the team as an Account Executive. You’ll also most likely see her stocking magazine racks around town. Robin grew up in Clemmons and has called it home all her life. She has a degree from High Point University and after finding herself downsized from her marketing position in corporate America, Robin joined forces with Forsyth Woman publisher and friend, Keela Johnson to launch Forsyth Family. She and her husband, Tim, have been married for almost 35 years and share two grown daughters, Briana and Morgan, as well as a son-in-law, Briana’s husband, Jonathan and Morgan’s soon to be husband, Deep! She is very excited to welcome her first grandchild in May. Robin and her family are avid music fans and enjoy going to concerts and movies. She loves watching birds on her many backyard feeders and flower gardening. She is an active member of New Day Community Church and feels closest to God on her daily walks at Tanglewood Park with husband Tim. Regarding her favorite thing about Forsyth Magazines, Robin said, “It’s hard to narrow it down to one specific thing, but meeting all of the wonderful people I come in contact with and being a small part of local businesses’ success is top of the list!”
