YMCA of Northwest North Carolina Membership Changes to Include all Ys in the State, and the YWCA
Ever wished you could exercise at another Y in North Carolina when you’re traveling? Heard about the outdoor water park or hot yoga at another YMCA in our area and wanted to check it out? Or wanted to experience the Gateway YWCA? As a Y member, now you can.
Beginning November 1st, full facility/full privilege YMCA members in North Carolina have the flexibility to use other Y facilities throughout the state at no extra charge. YMCA of Northwest North Carolina members can also visit the Gateway YWCA as part of their membership, as well as the 16 branches within the Association.
“At the Y, we want to encourage you to use the Y as often as possible in order to meet your health and wellness goals,” said Curt Hazelbaker, President and Chief Executive Officer of the YMCA of Northwest North Carolina. “Sometimes, it is more convenient for a Y member to use a Y in a different location when traveling, near a workplace, or in another region. This program allows active Y members the flexibility to use other Y facilities.”
That means when you join one of the 16 YMCA of Northwest North Carolina locations you now have access to all this and more:
- More pool space at the William G. White, Jr. Family YMCA, Davie Family YMCA, Stokes Family YMCA and now the eight-lane Gateway YWCA Aquatics Center.
- Special programs like Hot Yoga at the Robinhood Road Family YMCA and Les Mills GRIT at the Robinhood Road and Jerry Long Family YMCAs.
- Full access, including pools, at the YMCAs in Wilkesboro and Statesville and an outdoor Water Park at the Kernersville Family YMCA.
- The newly-expanded Wilkes Family YMCA Wellness Center.
- The state-of-the art Training Center with CrossFit at William G. White, Jr., Wilkes Family and Fulton Family YMCAs.
- Full access to more group-exercise class offerings, gym space and more at all branches.
In addition, part of the new partnership includes the YWCA. Members of the YWCA can now visit the Gateway YWCA, located at 1300 S Main Street in Winston-Salem, to experience the state-of-the-art Aquatics Center, including an eight-lane competition pool and the largest indoor Water Park in the Winston-Salem area. The YWCA also includes a fitness center, three group exercise studios and a wide range of exercise classes, as well as AAU regulation-size basketball courts and an indoor track. YWCA members can also visit YMCA of Northwest North Carolina locations as part of their membership.
The YMCA is committed to helping members reach their goals. When you join the Y, you also receive three free uFit sessions with a Wellness Coach to help you get the results you want. uFit coaches are trained to help you set attainable goals and provide you with the ongoing support necessary for success.
“There has never been a better time to join the YMCA,” said Hazelbaker. “When you join, you are not only joining facilities with state-of-the-art wellness centers and pools, you are also part of a cause that strengthens our community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility.”
The Y brings friends and neighbors together over shared interests in developing the potential of kids, improving individual health and well-being, and giving back and supporting our community. Membership at the YMCA provides access to comprehensive wellness and aquatics facilities, group exercise classes, savings on programs such as Boot Camps, Summer Camp, Youth and Adult Sports, Swim Lessons and much more.
