Established realtor Jody Peske, Broker in Charge for Keller Williams Realty, knows what it takes to be successful in her field, and well-loved by all her clients. She also knows it’s essential to partner with the right people.
“I have enough tasks just doing my best to take care of my clients and looking out for their best interests,” says Jody. “That’s why it is so important to have a lender that I know, once I refer my clients, they are well taken care of, and I don’t have to worry or stay on top of the lender to make sure everything is getting done.”
That lender—who Jody says is always ahead of the game in the lending process in every way—is Ashley McKenzie-Sharpe, Senior Loan Officer for Fairway Independent Mortgage Corporation. Known for her speedy and efficient turn-around, excellent rates, and personal service, Ashley is also a designated military mortgage specialist.
“Jody and I had worked together a few times through Keller Williams Realty, but we really grew our friendship when we participated in Clemmons Community Day Events,” explains Ashley, who has been in the mortgage end of the business since 2005 and with Fairway since 2012. The two have co-sponsored these events together for many years, and Jody is a founding leader of Clemmons Community Day. “I think Jody would agree it’s wonderful to work with acquaintances, but nothing compares to working with a true friend!” says Ashley.
Both of these energetic business women have mantras they live and work by. Ashley stays on top of her game with what she calls her “YES plan”: “Yearn (know more, give more, grow more), Encourage (your clients, your team, your partners), Stick (keep in constant contact with your prospects).” Her knowledge and dedication have earned her much respect in the local real estate market.
Jody’s own life experiences have helped shape her view of the real estate world, and she knows personally what a trying time making a real estate move can be. She’s also steadfast in what makes a successful working relationship with clients and co-workers alike. Her motto is simple: “At the end of the day, all you have is your name and your integrity!
“Whether it’s a relocation client moving across the state or the country, I have a great sense of empathy for those clients,” says Jody. “We moved seven times in 14 years, so I know the stresses that go along with a relocation move.” (Note: She often features tips for easing into a new city or state on her blog!)
She also holds a soft spot for first-time home buyers, and clearly enjoys what she does every day. “It is so very rewarding to help someone go through the process of purchasing their first home. It’s my job to educate them—which is especially important—and talk them through every step. This first experience will set the tone for how they feel about the real estate process for the rest of their lives.”
Navigating the entire process while serving people at such an important time in their lives is what makes Jody happiest, as does offering her time to several local organizations. It’s clear how much she values friendship in all areas of life—and that definitely includes her clients. As fate would have it, that penchant for friendships also created a bond with Ashley, which these two strong business women know is the basis for their industry success. Just as they have with each other, both feel their clients are an extension of their family, and that passion shows with every happy home owner!
