BY ADELE CASANOVA

Spring is just around the corner! In nature, Spring is a time for rebirth and renewal. And for homeowners, a time to remodel and redecorate. What better way to be inspired with fresh ideas than to attend the Annual Triad Home and Garden Show, hosted by the Home Builders’ Association of Winston-Salem (HBAWS)?This show is the largest and longest-running consumer show in the area, with over 100 vendors. You will be able to connect with professionals in the industry and learn about the best products and services for all of your home and garden projects. Experience the latest trends in building and remodeling for indoor and outdoor living spaces, including trending aging-in-place products and services.

While at the show, be sure to attend the 2019 Learning Stop with Erik Anderson from Dreammaker Kitchen and Bath and Anderson Moore Builders. This year’s demonstrations will be:

  • Secrets to Remodeling Your Kitchen/Bath—Saturday, 1:00 to 2:00 p.m.
  • 30 Trends in 30 Minutes for the Kitchen and Bath—Saturday, 3:00 to 4:00 p.m.
  • How to Remodel Without Breaking the Bank—Sunday, 2:00 to 3:00 p.m.

A portion of proceeds from the show will be donated to Habitat for Humanity of Forsyth County, continuing a 30-year tradition of giving. “The Triad Home and Garden Show has provided Habitat for Humanity the opportunity to showcase the ReStore and raise money to serve more families each year. We are indebted to the Winston-Salem Home Builders’ Association and their generosity to Habitat for Humanity throughout the year,” stated Mike Campbell, Habitat for Humanity of Forsyth County Executive Director/CEO. Please visit the Habitat ReStore booth for an eclectic selection of home furnishings, outdoor living spaces and interior design items for those in the market for upcycled items.

In its continuing support for educating local students to enter the technical building trades, the Annual Triad Home and Garden Show features a Career Technical Education (CTE) booth, where you can purchase items made by students. Through a partnership with Habitat Forsyth, Forsyth Technical Community College, Kennedy High School and WSFC Career Center, the HBAWS provides opportunities for students to learn building skills and build Habitat homes annually. In addition, the Professional Women in Building booth will be selling raffle tickets, raising funds to benefit a scholarship program for local Career Tech Education Students continuing at FTCC Carpentry.

Bring the kids and experience some family fun at the Kidzone booth, run by Kaleideum North, an interactive, hands-on museum center for all ages. Activities for the kids will spark their imaginations and their desire to learn. Kaleideum develops exhibits and programming that fuse STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) literacy and arts education into an integrated approach to learning. What a great way to entertain your children while at the show!

Enjoy delicious food while at the show from a variety of local food trucks that will be available. Food, entertainment and education…what could be a more fun way to spend the day with your family than a visit to the Annual Triad Home and Garden Show?
