Wrights Landscaping Following Nature’s Lead

Remember those wise words about pursuing your passion, and then your job won’t seem like work at all?

With over 14 years of experience, that’s the very definition of Chris Wright’s career. Owning a landscaping business just comes naturally to him, and since his profession is his true passion, it’s pretty much a dream come true.

After graduating from Elon University in 2005 with a business degree, Chris followed his intuition and his heart, and opened his own business right here in his home town of Clemmons. He then received an Associate’s Degree from Forsyth Technical Community College in the field he had grown to love through the years—horticulture. Chris credits the meshing of those two very different degrees for helping make his current business such a success.

“I wanted to learn about growing and caring for as many plants as possible, and my business degree taught me how to communicate and actually run a business,” he says, of how his education and timing paid off.

What makes Wright’s Landscaping unique is the personal touch Chris adds to every project he takes on.

“With my business, no matter how big or small the job, you can guarantee I will be there on-site doing the work,” says Chris. “I like to be readily available if the homeowner or commercial client has any questions or concerns.”

Following his passion and transforming that into a successful local business is an extremely fortunate path, and Chris knows it. He welcomes the chance to be outside every day instead of being cooped up in an office.

“I also love the personal satisfaction of getting to work with my hands, and when the job is done, being able to look at it and say, ‘I did that!’” admits Chris.

Customers are drawn to this savvy entrepreneur’s strong commitment to meeting their needs, so he’s grateful for a lengthy list of repeat clients and positive referrals. Chris is especially focused on growing the lawn maintenance side of Wrights Landscaping. His business is currently 50% residential—including projects for both individual homes and HOAs—and 50% commercial, which includes a variety of office buildings and assisted living facilities in the area that now boast well-manicured exteriors!

Every consultation includes a free estimate as well, so potential clients can gauge the costs of his expert services in grass cutting, plugging and seeding, landscape design and installation, along with pruning small trees and shrubs, spreading pine needles and mulch, and the proper, precise application of pesticides.

Known for his impeccable attention to detail, Chris is also the master of installing stone walls and retaining walls, and happy to help clients brainstorm new ideas for each season.

“I never get bored, because every single day is a new project!” he explains.

Spring is here and summer will be arriving on its heels, with all of us looking to spend more time outdoors. So, start thinking about your favorite plants and flowers and what you’ll want to see around your yard in a few months.

“The spring is an ideal time for planting shrubs, annuals, and perennials,” advises Chris. “It’s also a good time to fertilize your plants and your lawn.”

Keeping Clemmons home for his own young family, joining the area’s steadily growing business community, and serving on the Village of Clemmons Town Council has been the perfect situation, says Chris. He knows he’s extremely fortunate to be able to wake up every morning and feel excited to be going to work, spreading his passion in his favorite community.

“There is nothing else I would rather be doing, and nowhere else I would want to do it! He adds.
